    Modules

    Practical: 1.5 credit (30 hours)

    Description: This module is designed to prepare Nursing students towards to
    learn about a number of basic and advanced clinical competency skills in nursing
    foundation subject like NEWS, Health Assessment, Complete Physical

    Examination, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Recording and Reporting etc.

    Learning outcome: on completion of the module, the students will be able to-

    1. Develop understanding about fundamentals of overall health assessment,
      demonstrate competency in monitoring vital signs.
    2. Develop effective communication strategy to demonstrate educational need
      of the patients.
    3. Develop understanding about the concept of health, iliness and scope of
      Nursing within health care services

    Assessment method: case study discussion, CBT, Demonstration, Teach back
    technique.

    Practical: 3.5 credit (70 hours)

    Description: This module is designed to learn about the hygiene and nursing process, Diagnostic testing, Elimination need, First aid emergencies, Medication
    administration like Oral, Topical, Inhalation, Subcutaneous, etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to

    1. Develop the fundamental skills in nursing Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation of the Nursing care process in a hospital setting.
    2. Demonstrate overall Nursing management of several diseases.
    3. Educate patients and provide first aid measures during emergencies.

    Assessment method: Case study Discussion, CBT, Demonstration, Teach back technique.

    Practical: 2.25 credit (45 hours)

    Description: This module is designed to learn many advanced procedures for both Medical & Surgical conditions like IV Cannulation, Chest Physiotherapy,GRBS monitoring, Intradermal injection, Skin allergy testing, Nursing management of the patients with various clinical condition etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to

    1. Perform skillful procedures by applying scientific based knowledge to provide
      comprehensive care.
    2. Demonstrate skills to perform various diagnostic procedures in clinical settings.
    3. Identify the drugs used in medical and surgical patients.

    Assessment method: Case summery discussion, Demonstration, Teach back technique. CBT.

    Practical: 2 credit (40 hours)

    Description: This module is designed to perform various advanced procedures under Adult Health Nursing – II. Mainly the procedures will be focused on the management of the ENT disease, Eye conditions, Urinary system disorders, Neurological disorders, Critical patient’s management etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to

    1. Explain various surgical and non-surgical disorders, nursing procedures and treatment protocol.
    2. P erform complete health assessment and physical examination to establish a baseline data for the priority based comprehensive nursing care.
    3. Educate individual and group personnel on significant medical and surgical patients.

    Assessment method: Case study discussion, CBT, Demonstration, Teach back technique.

    Practical: 1 credit (20 hours)

    Description: This module is focused on child health care where students will learn about several basic and advanced procedures like Fluid replacement calculation, Preparation and administration of different strengths of IV fluids, Nasogastric tube feeding for a child, Care of surgical wounds, etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to – Explore various National and International child welfare services and policies.

    1. Demonstrate competencies in complete newborn assessment and the managment of neonatal and childhood illnesses.
    2. Demonstrate various treatment modalities and therapy used in mental disorders.
    3. Formulate a Nursing care plan, identify various psychiatric disorders, and formulate the best treatment protocol with counseling services.

    Practical: 5 credit (100 hours)

    Description: This module is designed to learn several procedures combining on various nursing departments mainly child health nursing — Il, Mental health nursing, Community health nursing — 1, and Obstetrics and gynecology nursing. In this semester the students will learn a bunch of basic and advanced procedures like Pediatric bowel wash, Endotracheal suction, Phototherapy, Pediatric CPR, Mental status examination, Psychoeducation, ECT, Newborn care, Family planning counseling, Blood testing, Antenatal, and postnatal counseling, etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to –

    1. Apply the knowledge to provide nursing care to children with multiple pediatric disorders and communicable diseases.
    2. Provide care to children with psychological, social, and behavioral problems.
    3. Identify the child social welfare services.
    4. Assess and identify psychiatric emergencies and management.
    5. Explore community mental health services and crisis intervention.
    6. Use epidemiological approaches in community nursing diagnosis.
    7. Implement various national and international health programs and reproduc tive health care in community care.
    8. Demonstrate competency in providing comprehensive maternity care for women.

    Description: This module is designed on procedures of Community Health, and Obstetrics and Gynecology nursing. Here the students will learn many advanced procedures like Pregnancy confirmation tests, Assisting in NST/CTG/ USG, Antenatal interventions, Pervaginal examination, Obstetrics examination, Gynecological surgeries, Hysterectomy Management of unconscious patients, Care of terminally illpatients, Deathcare, Newborn resuscitation, etc.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to –

    1. Discuss and develop an effective health information system for the rural and urban communities
    2. Identify primary health problems in the rural and urban communities and provide primary care, counseling, and supportive health services.
    3. Demonstrate a leadership role in guiding, supervising, and monitoring health services for the PHCs, CHC, s personnel.
    4. Demonstrate skills in disaster preparedness and management and explain biomedical waste management.

    Advanced Communicative English (Semester 1)

    Theory: 2 credits (40 hours)

    Description: The course is designed to enable students to enhance their ability to speak and write the language (and use English) required for effective communication in their professional work. Students will practice their skills in verbal and written English during clinical and classroom experiences.

    Learning outcome: On completion of the module, the students will be able to –

    1. Identify the significance of communicative English.
    2. Describe concepts and principles of Language (English) used in professional development such as pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, paraphrasing, voice modulation, spelling, pause, and silence.
    3. Enhance expressions through writing skills.

    Assessment method: Written, and Oral Examination, Individual speaking skills and reading skills.
